Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes his side has a chance against Pyramids FC in the return leg of the CAF Champions League.
The Buccaneers were held to a goalless scoreline against the Egyptian side in the first leg at the FNB Stadium.
All focus now will be on the second leg next weekend in Cairo, with the Buccaneers banking on the away-goal rule to see them to their third Champions League final.
“I don’t know, the game just finished 30 seconds ago, a lot of emotions, a tough game, control for us, opportunities for them. Not a bad result considering that the goals away from home can be double,” Riveiro told SABC Sport.
“We have a very good game in Egypt if we want to go through. But I’m really proud of the boys, yeah, still open,” added the Spaniard.
The result leaves the clash in the overall context wide open, as the Buccaneers extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to nine matches.
“Yeah, but that’s football, opportunities none of us managed to score a goal. So, everything is open for the second leg, 0-0, not a bad game. I think it was not a 0-0 game, probably both teams created enough to score one goal. But one week.”
The return leg has been scheduled to be hosted at the 30 June Stadium on Friday April 25.
