Mouloudia Club d’Alger (MC Alger) touched down in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, on Thursday evening ahead of their CAF Champions League group stage fixture against FC Lupopo.
The Algerian side’s official social media channels confirmed the arrival, sharing images of the delegation at the airport.
The team travelled aboard a special Air Algérie flight, completing a nine-hour journey to the DR Congo.
MC Alger will face Lupopo on Sunday at the Frédéric Kibassa Maliba Stadium, marking the third matchday of the CAF Champions League group stage.
The encounter is crucial for both sides as they seek to secure points in the highly competitive group.
South African coach Rhulani Mokwena will be without three players for the trip: Boucherit, Tabti, and Halaimia. Their absences were confirmed by the club ahead of departure, meaning the squad will need to adjust ahead of Sunday’s clash.
MC Alger’s delegation appeared focused and determined upon arrival, with preparations already underway for the upcoming match.
The team is aiming to build on earlier group stage performances and secure a vital result on Congolese soil.
With travel and squad adjustments complete, attention now turns to the tactical preparations for Lupopo, who will be looking to capitalise on home advantage in front of their supporters.
