CAF Champions League: Al-Hilal touches down in Morocco for early preparation ahead of RS Berkane clash
Sudanese giants Al-Hilal Omdurman have arrived in Morocco ahead of their crucial first-leg CAF Champions League quarterfinal against RS Berkane, setting up an intensive training camp at the Raja Casablanca Academy since last Thursday.
The team undertook a long journey from Kigali, Rwanda, with a stopover in Accra, Ghana, before landing in Casablanca. By arriving more than a week before the match, Al-Hilal aim to maximize preparation time and acclimatize to Moroccan conditions, ensuring their squad is both physically and tactically ready for the high-stakes encounter.
The coaching staff is using the camp to refine strategies and enhance fitness levels ahead of the continental showdown, with the first leg scheduled for next Saturday at the Municipal Stadium. Al-Hilal will travel to Berkane next Thursday via Oujda and hold an official training session at the stadium on Friday to familiarize themselves with the match venue.
RS Berkane, meanwhile, will be relying on home advantage and the backing of their passionate supporters to secure a strong result before the return leg. Both sides are expected to contest a fiercely competitive match as they chase a place in the CAF Champions League semifinals.
Al-Hilal’s early arrival and extended training camp highlight the Sudanese club’s determination to make a deep run in Africa’s premier club competition, signaling that they are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to reach the next stage.
