Al Ahly secured a convincing 4-2 victory against Zamalek in the Cairo derby as part of the 5th day of the group stage of the African Champions League. Despite an early lead from Zamalek with a goal from Omar Gaber in the 4th minute, Al Ahly took control and equalized through Walid Soliman (9th), followed by goals from Ahmed Abdul Zaher and Mohamed Abou Treika. Ahmed Fathy scored the final goal for Al Ahly, while Ahmed Hassan saved the honor for Zamalek. With this win, Al Ahly returned to the top of group A, but their spot in the semi-finals is not yet guaranteed.
