The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected Al Ahly’s request for full attendance of fans ahead of their blockbuster clash against Sudanese side Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League.
However, the continental football governing body (CAF) has approved 30,000 spectators to watch the first leg of the quarterfinals to be held, at the Cairo International stadium next month.
The Egyptian powerhouse will play host to Al Hilal on April 1, 2025 before traveling for the return fixture in Mauritania on April 8, 2025.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly are in full cooperation with relevant state agencies as they seek for an improved spectators for the crucial match in Egypt.
Al Ahly initially requested for full capacity for the much-anticipated clash, but CAF only granted 30,000 fans for the match.
The Egyptian giants are hoping for a favorable results against Al Hilal as the team seeks to defend the Champions League title, having won the previous edition.
Al Hilal, on the other side, will be seeking to upset Al Ahly in their bid to make it to the semifinals of the competition.
