Saidi Ntibazonkiza Set to Join Ligue 1 Side Caen
Burundian international Saidi Ntibazonkiza is on the verge of making a return to top-flight European football, with a move to French Ligue 1 club Stade Malherbe Caen close to completion.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been a free agent since parting ways with Turkish outfit Akhisarspor, arrived in Caen on Monday and underwent a medical assessment on Tuesday. According to reports from Ouest-France and FootAfrica365, Ntibazonkiza has passed his medical and is expected to sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth.
The deal marks a fresh start for the Burundian playmaker, who previously impressed in Poland with Wisła Kraków and in the Netherlands with NEC Nijmegen. After a year-long stint in Turkey, he is now set to relaunch his career in Normandy, bringing creativity and experience to the Caen midfield.
Ntibazonkiza’s arrival is viewed as a low-risk, high-potential addition by Caen, who will be hoping the skillful winger can recapture the form that made him a fan favourite during his earlier European spells.
