Burkinabe winger Dylann Kam has sealed a move to Slovakian top-flight side AS Trenčín after parting ways with Austrian outfit SV Lafnitz, marking the latest chapter in his promising young career.
The 20-year-old, a product of Salitas FC’s academy in Burkina Faso, described the transfer as a significant opportunity to test himself in a new environment and further his development.
Speaking to 226foot shortly after signing, Kam expressed both gratitude and determination ahead of his debut in Slovakia.
“I’m very happy and grateful to have signed in Slovakia, especially for a club like Trenčín,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to continue my development, discover a new league, and prove my worth at the highest level. I’ve been very well received, and I’m fully motivated to give my all to help the team.”
Kam’s career has already taken him beyond Burkina Faso’s borders. After beginning his professional journey in Belgium, the winger moved to Austria, where he joined Lafnitz in the second division.
Last season, he made 13 appearances for the club, scoring twice and providing three assists — performances that underlined both his attacking intent and his potential as a creative outlet.
The move to AS Trenčín offers Kam a platform to showcase his abilities in a league known for developing young talent and acting as a gateway to larger European competitions. For the Ouagadougou-born player, the focus is on consistency, progression, and making a tangible impact in Slovakia’s top tier.
“My main goal is to establish myself here, gain playing time, and perform match after match,” Kam explained. “I want to continue learning, progressing, and being decisive for the team.
I know the Slovak First Division is a good springboard, so I plan to use this stage to attract attention and aim even higher in my career.”
AS Trenčín, a club with a track record of nurturing emerging talents and providing them with exposure to top-level football, will now be counting on Kam’s pace, dribbling, and attacking instincts to strengthen their wing play.
The Burkina Faso international’s adaptability and ambition have been central to his career trajectory so far. Moving from the Burkinabe Premier League to Belgium, then to Austria, and now Slovakia, he has steadily climbed through the European football pyramid — each step offering new challenges and learning experiences.
At just 20 years old, Kam is entering a critical stage in his career, where regular minutes and consistent performances can define his future path.
The Slovak league’s competitive but developmental nature could prove to be the ideal environment for him to refine his game while attracting the attention of bigger clubs in Europe.
For Kam, the challenge is clear: establish himself as a key figure at AS Trenčín, contribute to the team’s success, and continue his upward trajectory.
As he embarks on this latest adventure, the Burkinabe winger appears determined to ensure that Slovakia becomes a launchpad to even greater heights in his professional journey.
