Burkina Faso U17 women beaten by Nigeria in UFOA-B tournament

Burkina Faso’s Etalons U17 girls lost 2-0 to Nigeria on Monday, 21 September 2026, in the third round of the UFOA-B U17 girls development tournament.

The match was played at the Stade du Lycee scientifique de Yamoussoukro, where Burkina Faso held firm for much of the contest against Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets.

The Etalons showed resilience in the challenges and maintained strong collective discipline as they resisted their opponents. However, the physical demands of the match gradually took their toll, and Burkina Faso conceded twice in the closing stages.

The result leaves Nigeria top of the standings. Ghana are second, with Cote d’Ivoire third. Togo occupy fourth place, Burkina Faso are fifth and Niger are sixth.

Burkina Faso will have an opportunity to respond when they face Togo on Thursday, 24 September 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00.
