Heart of Midlothian have completed the signing of Burkina Faso international Pierre Landry Kaboré from Estonian side JK Narva Trans, pending international clearance and approval from the Scottish Football Association.
The 24-year-old forward, who has been in prolific form in the Estonian Meistriliiga, joins the Edinburgh club on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Capable of playing both as a winger and central striker, Kaboré arrives as the current top scorer in the Estonian top flight, having netted 22 goals in just 20 appearances this season.
Kaboré began his professional journey with SOL FC in Côte d’Ivoire before making the move to Europe in January 2024. In his debut campaign with Narva Trans, he made an immediate impact, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists.
His contributions helped guide the club to a sixth-place finish in the Meistriliiga standings and a runner-up spot in the Estonian Super Cup.
His standout performances not only earned domestic recognition but also drew the attention of national selectors. After featuring in two previous editions of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Kaboré made his senior debut for Burkina Faso earlier this year, a testament to his continued progression and rising profile on the African football scene.
Known for his power, pace, and direct style of play, Kaboré has developed a reputation as a dynamic attacker who can stretch defences and operate with equal effectiveness on the flanks or through the middle.
His versatility and eye for goal made him one of the most talked-about forwards in the Baltics, and his scoring record this season has further underlined his potential.
Hearts’ decision to bring in the Burkinabe striker marks a strategic move to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign.
The club, looking to build on their recent progress domestically and in Europe, see Kaboré as a player who can bring a fresh dimension to their frontline.
While the transfer remains subject to final clearances, Kaboré is expected to link up with his new teammates shortly. His arrival adds further competition for places in the attacking department and provides head coach Steven Naismith with another weapon as the club seeks to make an impact in both league and cup competitions.
Kaboré’s move to Scotland represents another significant step in a career that has continued to gather momentum. From West Africa to the Baltics, and now to the Scottish capital, the forward’s journey reflects both his ambition and adaptability.
For Hearts, his signing not only strengthens their squad but also reinforces their commitment to identifying talent in emerging football markets. With his track record and international experience, Kaboré will now aim to replicate his scoring exploits in the Scottish Premiership and cement his place as a key figure at Tynecastle Park.
