Burkinabe Football Federation has received 82 applications for the position of head coach of the national team, underlining the strong interest generated by the role.
The vacancy for the Stallions A post drew submissions from coaches of various nationalities before the application deadline.
The federation’s general secretariat confirmed that all dossiers have now been transmitted to the designated selection committee for evaluation.
The committee has begun examining the candidates’ profiles in line with the criteria set out in the official call for applications.
This first stage will determine which applicants progress to the next round of the recruitment process.
Following the initial screening, a shortlist will be established.
Those selected will be invited to take part in preliminary interviews scheduled for 19, 20 and 21 February.
The discussions are intended to provide further insight into each candidate’s vision, experience and suitability for the role before a final decision is made.
The successful applicant will take charge of Burkina Faso national football team, known as the Stallions, and will lead the side in forthcoming continental and international competitions.
The volume of applications reflects both the profile of the national team and the appeal of working within African football at international level.
With the review process now under way, attention turns to the shortlist and the interviews that will shape the next chapter for the Stallions.
