Burkina Faso international Abdoul Ouédraogo joins Morocco champions MAS Fes

Moroccan champions MAS Fes have completed the signing of Burkina Faso international Werssis Ouédraogo from Rahimo FC as they strengthen their squad for the new season and their CAF Champions League campaign.

Ouédraogo, who was also attracting interest from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club and a club in the Moldovan league, has agreed to join MAS Fes before the close of the summer transfer window.

The player is expected to arrive in Morocco in the coming hours to complete the formalities of his move to the Yellow Team.

MAS Fes moved quickly after Champions League meeting

MAS Fes opened negotiations with Ouédraogo immediately after their meeting with Rahimo FC in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The two clubs met at the August 4 Stadium in Ouagadougou, with MAS Fes ultimately securing the services of the Burkinabe player after discussions that began following the match.

Ouédraogo had emerged as a target for Wydad during the transfer window, while he also received an offer from the Moldovan league, but MAS Fes completed the deal.

Moroccan champions progress in Africa

The signing comes after MAS Fes advanced to the second preliminary round of the 2026-27 CAF Champions League.

The Moroccan side secured qualification after drawing 0-0 away to Rahimo in the second leg last Saturday.

That result was enough to send MAS Fes through after they had established a commanding advantage in the first leg in Fes, winning 4-1.

The Moroccan champions will now continue their continental campaign with Ouédraogo expected to strengthen their squad as they pursue further progress in the CAF Champions League.
