Burkina Faso name 25-player squad for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Burkina Faso head coach Amir Abdou has announced his 25-player squad for the opening two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The Etalons will host Benin on 25 September before travelling to Casablanca to face the Central African Republic on 28 September.

The squad, announced on Thursday, 17 September 2026, includes four players making their first appearances in the selection: Ismael Maiga, Julien Bationo, Mamoutou Ouedraogo and Axel Taonsa.

Several established members of the Burkina Faso side have also been called up, including Edmond Tapsoba, Nasser Djiga, Issa Kabore, Dango Ouattara and Lassina Traore.

Goalkeepers: Farid Ouedraogo, Kylian Nikiema, Herve Koffi.

Defenders: Arsene Kouassi, Ismael Maiga, Rachid Gnanou, Edmond Tapsoba, Arthur Zagre, Mamoutou Ouedraogo, Nasser Djiga, Issa Kabore.

Midfielders: Julien Bationo, Rachid Kouda, Axel Taonsa, Bebel Doumbia.

Forwards: Dango Ouattara, Georgi Minoungou, Abdoul Tapsoba, Ousseni Bouda, Landry Kaboure, Elohim Kabore, Lassina Traore, Aboubacar Camara.
