RC Lens have officially announced the signing of Hervé Koffi, the 27-year-old Burkina Faso international goalkeeper, from Belgian side Royal Charleroi SC.
Koffi will serve as a backup to current number one, Brice Samba, who is representing France at EURO 2024.
With experience living in northern France from his time at Lille OSC, Koffi has honed his skills through loans in Portugal and Belgium, making 96 appearances for Charleroi over three years.
As his contract neared its end, Lens quickly secured his signing, confident in his ability to reinforce the team’s goalkeeping position.
Pierre Dréossi, Lens’ general manager, praised Koffi’s state of mind and modern goalkeeping qualities, including his exceptional kicking game, reflexes, and explosiveness.
Koffi’s addition will provide depth and talent to Lens’ squad, and his experience playing in various countries will be an asset to the team.
With Koffi on board, Lens aims to strengthen its position in the French Ligue 1 and make a strong push in the upcoming season.
Koffi has 54 international caps for Burkina Faso since making his debut on March 26, 2016 at the age of 19 years and 5 months.
