Burkina Faso goalkeeper Hervé Koffi crowned Angers Player of the Month
Burkina Faso international Hervé Koffi has been named Angers Player of the Month for May, capping off an outstanding individual season in France’s Ligue 1 and further underlining his growing reputation as one of the club’s most influential performers.
Koffi played a decisive role in Angers’ successful fight to retain their top-flight status during the 2025–2026 campaign, delivering a series of consistent and commanding displays between the posts.
Since joining the French side on loan from RC Lens in the summer of 2025, Koffi has established himself as a key figure in the squad, earning admiration from both supporters and coaching staff.
His impact was particularly evident in a season defined by pressure and fine margins, where Angers relied heavily on defensive stability to secure vital points. Koffi responded with maturity and composure, producing a string of crucial saves that helped the club navigate difficult stretches of the campaign.
Over the course of the season, the 28-year-old goalkeeper kept an impressive ten clean sheets in 30 Ligue 1 appearances, a record that highlights both his consistency and importance to the team’s overall structure. His shot-stopping ability, reflex saves, and command of the penalty area proved instrumental in several tight matches where Angers edged out crucial results.
Beyond the statistics, Koffi also earned a reputation for producing moments of brilliance at decisive stages of matches. His spectacular saves in high-pressure situations became a recurring feature of Angers’ season and often shifted momentum in favour of the Ligue 1 side during critical encounters.
His performances did not go unnoticed internally, as he was previously voted Angers Player of the Season in April, reflecting his sustained excellence throughout the campaign. That recognition set the stage for his latest accolade, as supporters once again acknowledged his contribution by voting him Player of the Month for May.
This latest honour marks the second time Koffi has received the monthly award, further cementing his status as a fan favourite at the club and one of the standout performers in Angers’ survival battle.
For Angers, his contributions have been central to their ability to remain competitive in France’s top division, while for Koffi, the campaign represents another significant step in an already impressive career at both club and international level.
As the season concludes, the Burkinabe goalkeeper leaves behind a campaign defined by resilience, leadership and consistency—qualities that have not only helped Angers survive but also elevated his personal standing in Ligue 1.
