Burkina Faso defender Edmond Tapsoba seeks redemption against CAR after frustrating Benin draw

Burkina Faso defender Edmond Tapsoba is seeking for redemption in their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic following stalemate in opener against Benin.

The Stallions were held to a 1-1 draw by the Cheetahs at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou, a result that fell short of expectations after the team set out to make a strong start to the qualifying campaign.

With the disappointment still fresh, Burkina Faso have quickly shifted their attention to the encounter with the Central African Republic, knowing that a positive result is important if they are to maintain momentum in the qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of the match, defender Edmond Tapsoba acknowledged the frustration within the squad but urged his teammates to use the result as motivation.

“We’re disappointed, but we have to move on. We’re learning from our mistakes. The match is already tomorrow. So there’s no time to waste. We’re going to turn this disappointment into strength for tomorrow’s match,” Tapsoba said.
