Buba Sangare joins Elche permanently from Roma
Elche have officially completed the permanent signing of right-back Buba Sangare from Roma after exercising their purchase option following his loan spell last January.
The 2007-born defender has signed a contract running until June 2031, underlining the Spanish club’s long-term faith in his potential.
According to reports from Italy, Elche have paid €4.5 million for the transfer, with Roma retaining 20% of any future sale and a buy-back clause as part of the agreement.
The structure of the deal allows the Giallorossi to secure a small but important capital gain, helping them in their efforts to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play requirements. Elche, meanwhile, now control 80% of the player’s registration rights over the five-year contract.
Sangare, known simply as Buba, played 541 minutes for Elche last season and did enough to convince the club to make his stay permanent.
The young right-back will remain in Spain next season as he continues his development in La Liga, with Elche eager to build stability and plan for the future around promising talents like him.
