Bryan Mbeumo thrilled as Champions League dream comes true
Bryan Mbeumo says he “just can’t wait” to finally experience Champions League football with Manchester United next season, calling it a lifelong target he never lost sight of.
Speaking on the club’s Inside Carrington podcast, he stressed how much the competition means to both the team and the supporters, predicting an “unbelievable atmosphere” on those European nights.
Mbeumo admitted his journey has not been straightforward, highlighting the hard work and resilience behind his rise.
“I’m feeling really proud of myself, obviously because it’s never been easy for me. I have always had to work hard, but I never forgot about what I was wanting,” he explained, adding that belief in his “special abilities” kept him pushing forward. From the lower leagues to Old Trafford, he says he always carried the same ambition: to test himself among the very best.
“I always told myself I wanted to be the best player in the world, so playing these kinds of competitions was really high in my head,” Mbeumo said. Having started in England with Brentford in the Championship, the 26-year-old is now an important United attacker and has hit double figures with 10 goals in his first season at the club.
