Bryan Mbeumo disappointed after missed chances in Manchester United win

Bryan Mbeumo admitted he was frustrated after missing chances created by Bruno Fernandes in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

The Cameroon forward said he felt he should have done better with the opportunities Fernandes laid on for him, even though he later made amends by scoring the winner from another Fernandes assist.

Speaking after the match, Mbeumo said, “Not that I was not disappointed with Matheus Cunha slid me in as well.” He added, “I missed a lot of chances but the one he (Fernandes) gave me I was more disappointed for not giving him the assist to score.” Mbeumo finished by saying, “In the end I was very happy to score from his pass.”

Fernandes still had a major night, as his assist moved him level with the Premier League’s single-season record of 20, matching Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. One earlier miss from Mbeumo briefly left the United captain stunned, but the forward later redeemed himself by converting another Fernandes delivery.

The result sealed a third-place finish and Champions League qualification for Michael Carrick’s side.
