Brimah Razak returns to Linares after year away from football

Ghana goalkeeper Brimah Razak has joined Spanish side Linares, returning to the club after a spell without a team.

The 39-year-old moves to Linares after most recently being associated with Calahorra, whom he left in July 2025. He had been without a club before completing his return to the Segunda Federacion – Gr. IV side on 11 August 2026.

Razak previously played for Linares during the 2021-22 season, joining the club in November 2021 after a period without a club. He left in August 2022 to join CD Estepona FS, where he continued his career in Spain.

The goalkeeper began his senior career in Portugal with Chaves and Uniao Madeira before moving to Spain, where he represented Poli Ejido and Betis B. He subsequently progressed to Real Betis’ first team and later played for CD Tenerife, CD Guadalajara, Cordoba CF B, CD Mirandes and Cordoba CF.

Razak also spent time with South African club Sundowns after leaving Cordoba in 2017. His career has included several periods as a free agent, including before his moves to Linares and Calahorra.

Born in Accra, Razak is a Ghana international by nationality and stands 1.91m tall. He is right-footed and returns to a Linares side competing in Spain’s fourth tier.

His earlier spell at Linares followed his move from being without a club, while his departure in 2022 brought an end to his first period with the Spanish team. After leaving CD Estepona FS in July 2024, he again spent time without a club before joining Calahorra in December of that year.

Razak’s latest move adds an experienced goalkeeper to Linares’ squad, with the Ghanaian now back at the club more than four years after his first arrival. He joins following his latest period away from club football and resumes his career in Spain.
