Brest target French-Cameroonian winger Noah Edjouma in deadline day loan move

Brest are pushing to strengthen their attack before the close of the summer transfer window, with Lille winger Noah Edjouma emerging as a Deadline Day target.

The Ligue 1 club have made an enquiry about taking the 20-year-old on loan from Lille, according to L’Equipe.

Brest are looking for attacking reinforcements after Romain Del Castillo completed his move to Osasuna on Tuesday.

Brest seek attacking reinforcements

Del Castillo played an important role in Brest’s remarkable rise under former manager Eric Roy, helping the club secure a historic qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

His departure has left Brest looking for additional attacking options, with Edjouma now identified as a potential replacement.

The 20-year-old can operate as a winger or attacking midfielder and could provide Brest with an additional option in the final third.

Lille open to loan move

Lille are understood to be willing to allow Edjouma to leave temporarily, provided the move gives him the opportunity to play regularly and continue his development.

Brest head coach Julien Lachuer is reportedly keen to provide the youngster with that opportunity, potentially making the move attractive to both player and parent club.

Edjouma joined Lille from Toulouse six months ago in a deal worth €5m but has struggled to establish himself with Les Dogues.

He has made only five appearances since arriving at Lille and could now be offered the chance to gain valuable Ligue 1 experience with Brest.

With the transfer window closing, Brest will hope to complete the loan deal and add Edjouma to their attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.
