Brest complete €600,000 deal for Belgian-DR Congo midfielder Joseph Nonge

Belgium and DR Congo midfielder Joseph Nonge has joined Stade Brestois from Kocaelispor for €600,000, giving the Ligue 1 club a new central midfield option.

Nonge, 21, has signed a contract with Brest running until 30 June 2029. The move was completed on 5 August 2026, with the player moving from the Turkish club after one season in the Super Lig.

The Jette-born midfielder made 25 appearances for Kocaelispor, playing 1,193 minutes during the 2025-26 campaign. He also scored once in four Turkish Cup appearances, while helping the club’s midfield during his only season in Turkey.

Nonge began his senior career with Juventus’ development structure after moving through the Italian club’s youth ranks. He joined Juve Next Gen from Juventus Under-19s in July 2023 and made appearances in Serie C, Serie A and the Italian Cup.

His time with Juventus also included involvement in the club’s successful 2023-24 Italian Cup campaign, when he was part of the squad that won the trophy. His senior experience in Italy came across Juventus’ first team and reserve side, including two Serie A appearances and 15 Serie C matches.

Before moving to Kocaelispor, Nonge spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Servette. That spell followed an earlier loan move to Troyes, also in 2024-25, after which he returned to Juve Next Gen.

He left Juventus Next Gen for Kocaelispor on a free transfer in July 2025. His move to Brest now brings him back to France, where his previous senior experience included six Ligue 2 appearances and a loan spell with Troyes.

The 1.84m right-footed player is listed as a central midfielder and holds Belgian and DR Congo nationalities. Brest have completed his move from Kocaelispor for €600,000, with Nonge contracted to the club until June 2029.
