Manchester United and Ivorian winger, Amad Diallo could miss the rest of the season after suffering ligament damage.
The 22-year-old has been one of United’s best players this season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists, but he is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Amad suffered an ankle injury in training ahead of their game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and he is expected to be assessed by the club’s medical team.
Amad in an Instagram post on Saturday confirmed that he will be out for “some time.”
“Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season.
“Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever!!
“Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for.”
Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo is set to be out for at least a couple of weeks after picking up an injury of his own in training as earlier reported by AfricaSoccer.com.
Fellow midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also expected to be ruled out of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham.
