CAF confirms Egypt as new hosts of U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has formally awarded Egypt the hosting rights of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025, as exclusively revealed by Africa’s leading football news outfit AfricaSoccer.com yesterday.

The decision follows the withdrawal of Côte d’Ivoire for unforeseen reasons, and CAF accordingly selected Egypt, which had previously indicated interest in hosting the event as revealed by your authoritative website http://AfricaSoccer.com yesterday.

Egypt, where there is well-established football culture and world-class infrastructure, promises to host an immaculately organized and interesting tournament.

It will start on Sunday, 27 April 2025, with the finale on 18 May 2025. It will be an extremely respected competition for young stars with the continent’s best U-20 stars taking part in it, many of whom would turn out to be the future stars of African football.

The Egyptian government and the Football Association have assured CAF that they are ready to host a successful tournament with the best available stadiums, infrastructures, and security for officials, teams, and fans.

Egypt, with its football-loving culture and experience in organizing major tournaments, promises an unprecedented edition of the U-20 AFCON.

As the countdown begins, anticipation is high for what promises to be an exciting tournament, where young stars will meet to vie for continental glory and earn a ticket to make their own mark in the U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
