Brazil international and Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has backed French-Cameroonian forward Kylian Mbappe to make history at Real Madrid.
The former Paris Saint German star, who endured a difficult start to his Real Madrid is now up and running, scoring 25 goals across competitions.
Mbappe has been in hot form in recent weeks, scoring in three of his last four Champions League outings and bagging seven goals in his last seven in La Liga matches.
Casemiro, who is a legend at Real Madrid has thrown his weight behind Mbappe to flourish at the club.
“He is now well established and he will score 40 goals a year,” Casemiro told AS when it was put to him that Mbappe seemed to be feeling the pressure under the unique weight of the Real Madrid shirt.
“He’s already got 25 goals and will go past 40 in his first season.
“He can make history with Real Madrid. He’s playing in a position that’s not his but doing well because he’s very good. It’s not easy to remove Vini from the left. But that’s football and he’s doing well.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has described Mbappe as an unstoppable player: “I’ll tell you one thing. Mbappe is an unstoppable player. My first encounter with him was in the Champions League in Paris, at the Parc des Princes. He did everything to us. We lost 1-0 with a goal from him, but it was crazy.
“He’s the kind of player who will go down in football history. We can’t ask him to always score a 9. But he never goes below 7.5 or 8. He’s spoiled us.”
