The President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, congratulated the national football team, the Elephants, after their qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. President Ouattara conveyed his congratulations through a telephone call to the president of the Ivorian Football Federation, expressing joy and appreciation for the team’s achievement. Additionally, Issa Hayatou, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), urged the qualified African teams to begin preparations for the World Cup. The five African countries (Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana) will be placed in Pot 3 during the draw, alongside France and Chile.
