The first official test match at the Cuiaba stadium, one of the three venues yet to be delivered for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is scheduled for April 26. The test will feature a Brazilian second division match between Luverdense and Vasco da Gama, as confirmed by the government World Cup website. Before this, a test match is set for Tuesday between local club Mixto and Santos, although the venue remains unfinished in some areas such as the upper level stands and locker room furniture.
Out of the 41,390 seats that the Pantanal Arena will eventually accommodate during the World Cup, 20,000 have been made available for sale for the upcoming test events, according to organizers. Despite the delays in stadium construction, Fifa aims to reassure stakeholders about the readiness of the venues for the tournament.
