Brahim Diaz backs Mourinho to lead Real Madrid back to trophies

Morocco international Brahim Diaz says he is relishing the prospect of working under Jose Mourinho and is determined to help Real Madrid return to winning silverware this season.

The 25-year-old midfielder, speaking after returning for preseason training, expressed his excitement at reuniting with his teammates and beginning preparations for the new campaign at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“I couldn’t wait to come back and see my teammates,” Diaz said. “I’m really excited for this season and very happy to be back.”

Mourinho’s methods impress Moroccan star

Diaz praised Mourinho and his coaching staff, insisting that the Portuguese manager’s experience and winning pedigree can help Madrid achieve their objectives this season.

“Things are going well,” he said. “He and his staff are highly qualified. Everyone knows who Mourinho is and what he has achieved. We want to keep winning with him.”

The Moroccan midfielder revealed that Mourinho has placed a strong emphasis on intensity and teamwork during the opening weeks of preseason, despite the abundance of talent in the squad.

“He always asks us to play with intensity,” Diaz explained. “He reminds us that we have great individual quality, but teamwork and sacrificing for one another are what matter most because success comes when we play as one team.”

Focus on fitness ahead of new season

Diaz described Real Madrid’s preseason programme as demanding but necessary, with the players working hard to reach peak condition before the start of competitive action.

“We’re having good training sessions that are physically intense and require a lot of effort,” he said. “These preparations are important so we can be in the best possible condition at the start of the season because Real Madrid is expected to win every match.”

The midfielder stressed that the club’s ambitions remain unchanged, with Madrid expected to challenge for every major trophy.

Diaz targets silverware with Madrid

Looking ahead to the new campaign, Diaz said his main objective is to contribute in every game and help the Spanish giants add more silverware to their trophy cabinet.

“I’ll give the best version of myself in every match,” he said. “The most important thing at Real Madrid is winning titles because that’s what this club is all about.”

The Morocco international also spoke about his happiness away from football, saying he is in a positive place both personally and professionally.

“I’m very happy, and I want to keep enjoying football because it’s my passion,” Diaz concluded. “Everything is going well with my family too, and I’m looking forward to continuing to enjoy what I love at the best club in the world while staying focused on the positives.”
