Brahim Diaz declared fit for Real Madrid’s clash against Getafe
Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz has been cleared to play in Sunday’s La Liga fixture against Getafe following medical tests.
The Moroccan international was assessed after experiencing discomfort during the team’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Liverpool earlier this week.
Spanish media outlets confirmed Diaz’s readiness for the upcoming match, alleviating concerns about his availability.
Additionally, star players Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham are expected to return, providing much-needed options for Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has been grappling with numerous injury-related absences.
Speaking after the Liverpool match, Ancelotti praised Diaz’s contribution, stating, “Brahim played well and was a great help to the team.”
In the game against Liverpool, Diaz earned a solid rating of 6.9 from football analytics platform Sofascore, making him the fourth-highest-rated player for Madrid in the match.
The attacker registered 47 touches, completed 32 passes with an accuracy rate of 81%, and recorded one shot on target, with three additional attempts blocked by Liverpool’s defense.
The 24-year-old Moroccan has been a standout for both club and country. In his international career, Diaz has scored an impressive seven goals in just eight appearances for Morocco.
For Real Madrid, he has featured in nine matches across all competitions this season, contributing one goal and two assists.
Diaz, who joined Real Madrid on a long-term deal extending until the summer of 2027, continues to solidify his place in the squad.
With his fitness confirmed and key teammates returning, Real Madrid will look to regain momentum against Getafe as they push to maintain their standing in the fiercely competitive La Liga title race.
