Brahim Diaz and Yassir Zabiri’s final-whistle moment highlights Moroccan connection

The result belonged to Real Madrid, but the image that drew attention after their 3-0 win at Racing Santander was the embrace between Brahim Diaz and the home side’s winger Yassir Zabiri.

The two Moroccan players exchanged a warm hug at the final whistle at El Sardinero, offering a friendly moment after a match dominated by competition on the pitch. Their gesture reflected the good relationship between them away from the pressure of the game.

Real Madrid secured a sixth consecutive victory by beating Racing Santander 3-0 in the Spanish league. The result maintained their strong run of form and kept them firmly involved in the fight for the La Liga title.

Jose Mourinho’s side also moved to within three points of leaders Barcelona, while strengthening their position in third place in the table.

Real Madrid had entered the match under pressure to respond after Barcelona’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Alaves. That result meant the Madrid side needed to take all three points at El Sardinero to prevent the leaders from increasing their advantage.

They achieved that objective with a convincing scoreline, extending their winning run and narrowing the gap at the top of the standings. Once the match ended, Diaz and Zabiri put the result aside to share a sporting exchange that captured the bond between the two Moroccan footballers.
