Bradley Locko: Augsburg eye move for Brest left-back in Bundesliga switch

Bradley Locko, the France and Congo left-back currently at Stade Brestois, is being linked with a move to Bundesliga side Augsburg. The German club are exploring a deal for the 24-year-old defender, with the chances of a transfer currently rated at around 50%.

Locko is under contract at Brest until 30 June 2027, meaning any agreement would require Augsburg to negotiate a fee with the Ligue 1 club rather than pursue a cut-price or pre-contract move. His current market value is estimated at around €6m, a figure that is likely to shape Brest’s stance in any discussions.

The defender has amassed more than 100 Ligue 1 appearances, registering one goal and six assists and logging 6,676 minutes in the French top flight. That level of experience at a relatively young age is understood to be a key factor in Augsburg’s interest as they look to strengthen the left side of their defence.

Locko joined Brest on a permanent basis in July 2023 after an initial loan spell from Stade Reims earlier that year, in a deal worth about €500,000. Since then he has established himself in the first team, wearing the No 2 shirt for the Brittany club.

Born in Ivry-sur-Seine and standing at 1.80m, the left-footer has developed through the French system and is now regarded as an important part of Brest’s back line. With his contract running for another year beyond this season, Brest are in a strong position to decide whether to cash in or keep him as interest from Augsburg develops.
