Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has issued a rallying cry ahead of the club’s crucial Champions League clash against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.
With only one victory from five matches, PSG’s Champions League campaign hangs by a thread. The French giants sit perilously in 25th place in the expanded league phase, with only the top 24 advancing to the knockout rounds.
Bradley Barcola, 22, emphasized the gravity of the situation during a pre-match press conference. “It’s becoming difficult now. We need to win this match and the next three,” the French-born Togolese international declared. “We aren’t putting any extra pressure on ourselves, but we know it’s now or never.”
The reigning Ligue 1 champions face an uphill battle with fixtures against RB Salzburg, Premier League side Manchester City, and Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart still to come. After narrowly defeating Girona in their opener, courtesy of a late Paulo Gazzaniga error, PSG have struggled to maintain momentum.
