Brad-Hamilton Mantsounga: Nizza U19 centre-back linked with Wolfsburg move in Germany rumours

Wolfsburg are understood to be monitoring Nizza U19 centre-back Brad-Hamilton Mantsounga as the Bundesliga club weigh up a move for the teenage defender.

The 18-year-old, who holds Congolese and French nationality, is currently on the books of OGC Nice’s under-19 side in France’s Championnat National U19, Group D, but is now being linked with a switch to Germany. The level of interest is yet to be clarified, with the reported probability of a deal described only as “?”.

Mantsounga, a left-footed centre-back born in Nice on 6 September 2007, is valued at around €150,000 according to the latest Transfermarkt assessment on 15 January 2026. With no contract expiry date publicly listed, there is speculation in France that his status could leave room for Wolfsburg either to negotiate a low-fee deal or position themselves should he edge towards free-agent territory.

The defender stepped up from OGC Nice U17 to Nizza U19 on 1 July 2024, having previously progressed through OGC Nice Youth after joining from local side Cavigal Nice Football Youth in 2020. All of his competitive football to date has come within the Nice academy system and the French youth structure.

Featuring in the National U19 set-up this season, Mantsounga has been building a reputation as a composed central defender, operating on his favoured left side and offering height at 1.82m. Recent outings for Nizza U19 in Group D have kept him on the radar of scouts tracking emerging talent in France, although detailed match statistics and individual performance data remain limited at this level.

Should Wolfsburg formalise their interest in the coming windows, a move to the Bundesliga would represent a significant step up in competition and visibility, giving Mantsounga a platform that could define the next stage of his development and shape both his reputation and long-term potential in European football.
