Brabrand IF add Nigeria midfielder Ekemini Ime from Aarhus GF

Nigeria midfielder Ekemini Ime has joined Brabrand IF from Aarhus GF on loan, completing a move from Denmark’s Superliga to the 2.Division.

The transfer was completed on 22 August 2026, with the 20-year-old defensive midfielder signing for Brabrand until 30 June 2027. The agreement includes a return to Aarhus GF at the end of the loan period.

Ime moves to Brabrand after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 season with Aarhus GF. He was included in the club’s squad during a campaign involving Superliga football and European qualifying competitions, although he had not made an appearance before joining Brabrand.

The move gives Ime his first senior spell away from Aarhus GF, having stepped up to the Superliga club from their under-19 side on 1 July 2026. He had previously joined Aarhus GF U19 from Klassisch FA in September 2024.

Brabrand compete in Denmark’s 2.Division, while Aarhus GF play in the country’s top flight. Ime’s arrival therefore represents a change in level and a new setting for the young midfielder as he continues his senior career.

Born on 27 March 2006, Ime is a Nigeria international by nationality and plays primarily in defensive midfield. His move adds a player with experience in the Aarhus GF system to Brabrand’s midfield options for the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign.

Before the transfer, Ime had not featured in Aarhus GF’s Europa League qualifying, Superliga or Champions League qualifying matches this season. His loan to Brabrand was registered on 22 August, and the scheduled end date is 30 June 2027.

Ime’s career in Denmark began with Klassisch FA before his move to the Aarhus GF academy. After two seasons with the under-19 team, he progressed into Aarhus GF’s senior group during the summer, but will now spend the season with Brabrand.

The agreement is a loan transfer rather than a permanent departure, with Aarhus GF retaining his registration beyond the end of the spell. Ime will return to Aarhus GF when the loan expires on 30 June 2027.
