Bournemouth determined to keep Antoine Semenyo until summer

Bournemouth have made it clear they want Antoine Semenyo to stay at the club until the end of the season, despite strong interest from several top Premier League sides ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25‑year‑old Ghana international signed a new contract on 1 July, even as Manchester United and Tottenham monitored him closely, and that deal contains release clauses that could shape his future.

One clause allows Semenyo to leave for 65 million pounds if triggered before 10 January 2026, with the buyout fee dropping by 5 million pounds in the summer of 2026. Bournemouth’s preference is to keep him for the rest of the campaign or agree a pre‑contract in January that would see him move in the summer of 2026, giving the club time to find a proper replacement after the World Cup.

Clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all mentioned as potential suitors who might favour a pre‑agreed deal that lets them reshape their attacking options for next season.

On the south coast, Bournemouth are quietly studying possible successors but do not expect major business in January unless Semenyo’s clause is activated late in the window, which could force them into the market at short notice.
