Latest reports in the transfer market reveal that both English Premier League team Bournemouth and African champions Al Ahly SC have expressed interest in signing Mamelodi Sundowns’ midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
The 27-year-old South Africa midfielder has been scouted by Bournemouth for some time now, and the club is prepared to compete with Al Ahly for his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
According to sources, Al Ahly is ready to make an official offer for Mokoena, who is currently under contract with Sundowns until 2026.
However, the talented all-action Bafana Bafana player is reportedly refusing to extend his contract as he is seeking a new challenge.
In recent news from Cairo media, it has been reported that Al Ahly has made it a priority to bring Mokoena into their team this summer.
The Red Devils are determined to add the midfielder to their squad and have set their sights on securing him in the transfer window.
Mokoena was instrumental for the Bafana Bafana when they finished third place at the 2024 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, making the team of the tournament in addition.
The highly-rated central midfielder has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Sundowns this season, scoring five times.
