Bourges Foot 18 is intensifying its efforts to recruit Senegalese players, with Cheikh Tidiane Sidibé and Ousmane Diouf among those being closely monitored by the French club.
Since Sadio Mané became the majority shareholder, the National 2 side has actively pursued talent from Senegal to bolster its squad.
Mané’s arrival at the club on July 1 marked a significant turning point, not just as an investment but as part of a broader vision that includes sporting, economic, and social ambitions.
As a result, recruiting players from his home country has become a strategic priority for Bourges.
Senegalese Duo on Bourges’ Radar
Cheikh Tidiane Sidibé, a Senegalese international who last played for Azam FC, has emerged as a key target.
Looking to reignite his career in Europe and earn a return to the national team, Sidibé recently terminated his contract with the Tanzanian club.
While discussions with Bourges have begun, no formal agreement has been reached. Negotiations, however, remain ongoing.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Diouf, another Senegalese talent, was previously in talks with Bourges.
The CHAN winner, who currently plays for Sudanese side Al Ahly, confirmed past discussions with the club but revealed that the two parties failed to agree on terms.
“Bourges contacted me and we discussed, but we did not reach an agreement. The offer did not fully meet my expectations,” Diouf told Wiwsport.
With Mané at the helm, Bourges Foot 18 continues to explore the Senegalese market in search of reinforcements.
Whether Sidibé or Diouf eventually joins remains to be seen, but the club’s ambition to integrate African champions into its ranks is clear.
