Bounou to Juventus: Morocco and Canada goalkeeper linked with Serie A switch from Al-Hilal

Yassine Bounou, the Morocco and Canada international goalkeeper currently at Al-Hilal, is being linked with a move to Serie A side Juventus as the Italian club assess experienced options in goal. The 35-year-old, who has a contract in Saudi Arabia until 30 June 2028, is understood to be on the Turin side’s radar as they explore the market ahead of the new season.

Bounou’s current market valuation stands at around €3 million, a figure that could make him an accessible target despite his long-term deal with Al-Hilal. He joined the Saudi Pro League club in August 2023 and has since established himself as their first-choice goalkeeper, earning the division’s Goalkeeper of the Season award in 2023-24.

On the international stage, Bounou has maintained a prominent role. He started every match for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, playing every minute of their six games, keeping two clean sheets and conceding six goals. His standing with the national team was reinforced when he helped Morocco win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.

Bounou has also enjoyed significant success in Europe, winning the Europa League twice with Sevilla and claiming a Spanish league title earlier in his career with Atletico Madrid. He later added a second Goalkeeper of the Season prize in 2023-24 with Al-Hilal after first receiving the accolade in 2021-22 at Sevilla, underlining his consistency at the highest level.

For now, Bounou remains under contract with Al-Hilal, where he has become a key figure in a side that has collected league, cup and Super Cup honours during his time in Saudi Arabia.
