Boulacsout to Real Madrid: Raja Casablanca and Morocco defender linked with surprise La Liga move

Moroccan right-back Mohamed Boulacsout of Raja Casablanca is being linked with a shock move to Real Madrid as the Spanish giants assess defensive options ahead of the new La Liga season.

Boulacsout, 27, is under contract with Raja until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require Madrid to negotiate a fee with the Botola Pro Inwi champions. The defender is currently valued at around €700,000, a figure that would make him a comparatively low-cost addition for the Bernabeu club if they choose to formalise their interest.

The Marrakech-born full-back has been a regular performer in Morocco’s top flight, making 168 league appearances and contributing 11 goals and 10 assists. His experience extends to continental competition, with further outings and goals in the CAF Champions League, adding to his exposure at a higher level.

Boulacsout joined Raja from SCC Mohammedia in July 2022 and was part of the side that went on to win the Moroccan league and cup double in the 2023-24 campaign. That domestic success, combined with his performances at right-back, has helped elevate his standing within Moroccan football.

Internationally, he has also been involved in Morocco’s recent triumphs in the African Nations Championship and the Arab Cup in the 2024-25 season, further underlining his pedigree in regional competitions.

For now, Boulacsout remains a key member of Raja’s squad with three years left on his deal, leaving the Casablanca club in a strong position should Real Madrid decide to test their resolve.
