OGC Nice will be without Algerian midfielder Hicham Boudaoui for the decisive second leg of their Ligue 1 promotion and relegation playoff against AS Saint-Étienne.

Head coach Claude Puel confirmed that the midfielder will miss the return fixture after suffering a suspected concussion during Tuesday’s first leg, which ended in a goalless draw in Saint-Étienne.

Boudaoui was forced off in the opening half of the match, and due to concussion protocols, he will not be available for the crucial encounter.

Elye Wahi Returns After Suspension

Nice have, however, received a boost with the return of Elye Wahi, who missed the first leg through suspension.

Puel revealed that the forward trained normally on Wednesday and is expected to be available for selection ahead of the decisive clash.

Doubts Remain Over Dante and Louchet

There are still concerns surrounding club captain Dante, who could potentially play the final match of his professional career if selected.

The experienced Brazilian defender is expected to undergo a late fitness assessment alongside Tom Louchet before the match.

“There are a few small uncertainties,” Puel admitted as Nice continued preparations for the high-stakes encounter.
