Eli Junior Kroupi shines during breakthrough Bournemouth season

Former Ivory Coast international Boubacar Sanogo has praised Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi after the teenager enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season in the Premier League.

The young striker has emerged as one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this campaign, scoring 13 goals during his first season in English football and attracting growing attention with his performances.

Kroupi recently strengthened his reputation after scoring against Manchester City, a moment that further highlighted his rapid development at the highest level.

His rise has reportedly encouraged Bournemouth to work on securing the long-term future of one of their most valuable young players.

The French forward, who remains under contract with Bournemouth until 2030, is currently valued at €40 million according to Transfermarkt.

Away from club football, Kroupi has also made an important international decision regarding his future. The striker reportedly rejected approaches from both Ivory Coast and Portugal as he focuses on achieving his ambition of representing the French national team.

Speaking exclusively to Africafoot, former Werder Bremen and Ivory Coast striker Boubacar Sanogo shared his admiration for the player’s progress and mentality.

“Scoring 13 goals in his first year in England is exceptional. His goal against Manchester City shows his great mental strength.

He’s a modern striker. Bournemouth wants to secure his future, and that’s an excellent decision for his stability. He needs to keep the momentum going there.”

Sanogo also believes Kroupi has the qualities required to compete for a place in the France national team despite the strong competition for attacking positions.

“He turned down Portugal because he’s aiming for France. The competition is fierce in France, but if he maintains his consistency, his chance will come.”

Kroupi’s performances this season have established him as one of the most closely watched young forwards in English football.

His combination of composure, movement and finishing ability has allowed him to adapt quickly to the demands of the Premier League.

The striker’s rapid progress has inevitably sparked wider interest surrounding his future, with discussions already beginning about his long-term development and potential opportunities at the highest level of European football.

For now, however, Bournemouth appear determined to continue building around the talented forward as he develops into one of the club’s key players for the future.
