Botola Pro 1: Wydad AC coach Amine Benhachem missing key players ahead of FAR Rabat clash

Wydad AC head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem will be forced to reshuffle his squad for the upcoming Clasico against AS FAR after being hit with key absences.

The Red side will be without Congolese defender Joseph Bakasu, who is suspended for the postponed ninth-round fixture of the Professional League.

Bakasu received his fourth yellow card of the season during the clash with RS Berkane in Round 14 following a challenge on Ayoub Khairi, triggering an automatic one-match suspension imposed by the league’s Disciplinary Committee.

While Bakasu’s absence presents a setback, Wydad will be boosted by the return of Abdelghafour Lamirat.

The midfielder had been rested in the previous two encounters against Olympique Dcheira and RS Berkane, as the technical bench sought to protect him from collecting a fourth yellow card that would have ruled him out of the high-stakes showdown against the Royal Army.

The much-anticipated encounter between Wydad and AS FAR is scheduled for Wednesday evening at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, with kickoff set for 10 pm, as both sides battle for crucial points in the domestic campaign.
