In a proactive security effort ahead of the Botola Pro 1 fixture between Kawkab Marrakech and Olympique Safi, Marrakech police confiscated 175 units of prohibited firecrackers and fireworks on Wednesday, March 4.
The operation unfolded in two phases. During the first, officers arrested three individuals found in possession of 132 firecrackers and fireworks. The second phase targeted online activity, where authorities had been monitoring social media advertisements selling fireworks. This led to the arrest of two more suspects and the seizure of an additional 43 fireworks units.
All suspects are now under judicial investigation, overseen by the territorially competent public prosecutors, as authorities work to uncover the full scope of the criminal activity and identify any further connections.
