Borussia Dortmund star Serhou Guirassy leaves Guinea camp due to injury setback
Borussia Dortmund star Serhou Guirassy will miss Guinea’s final World Cup qualifier against Botswana on Tuesday following an injury setback.
The 29-year-old striker has returned to Dortmund to undergo medical examination to determine the extent of the injury.
Guirassy is now a major doubt for the crucial Bundesliga clash against Bayer Munich next weekend due to the recent setback.
Meanwhile, Dortmund are hopeful about the availability of the talented attacker ahead of their crucial showdown against sworn-rivals, Bayer Munich.
Guirassy missed Guinea’s last World Cup qualifier against Mozambique, where the side inflicted a 2-1 victory over their opponent.
Previously, the forward missed the Bundesliga fixture against Mainz due to a thigh problem. Despite the setback, the forward traveled to join Guinea squad for the final round of the World Cup qualifier.
Unfortunately, the highly-rated attacker could not feature in any of the games for the Guinea national team due to the setback.
Guinea is already out of contention for World Cup qualification, sitting only fourth in their qualifying group. The team will play their final qualifier on October 14 against Botswana.
