Borussia Dortmund declare Felix Nmecha untouchable
Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that Felix Nmecha is not for sale, firmly counting on the midfielder as a key figure for next season.
Despite interest from abroad, sporting director Ole Book confirmed that the club’s plans revolve around the 25-year-old.
In an interview with Bild, Book was asked whether Nmecha is “not for sale” this summer and replied: “I would sign that.” He added: “Felix will also play for us next season, that’s the clear plan.”
Book went on to praise Nmecha, calling him “one of the best midfielders in Germany” who does not have to “hide in Europe either.” Under coach Niko Kovac, Nmecha has developed into a central pillar of Dortmund’s game, delivering consistency and presence in midfield. Last season, the German international featured in 42 competitive matches, contributing five goals and three assists.
In March, BVB underlined their faith by extending his contract long term until 2030. Even if his strong performances attract new suitors across Europe, Dortmund’s stance is clear: Nmecha is to remain a cornerstone of their sporting project in the coming years.
