Borussia Dortmund confirm permanent acquisition of Franco-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka

Borussia Dortmund have secured the services of France international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka in the current summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins the Bundesliga giants on a permanent deal from Chelsea, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.

Chukwuemeka spent half of last season on loan at Dortmund, making 17 appearances and scoring just a goal across the period.

The midfielder joined Chelsea in summer 2022, but struggled to establish himself as a key member of the team, leading to his departure from the club.

During his spell with Chelsea, the 21-year-old midfielder made 32 appearances, scoring two goals and providing just an assist.

With his wealth of experience in France and England, Chukwuemeka is expected to play a huge role for Dortmund as they seek to make a meaningful impact this season.
