The beginning of the year brings unfortunate news for Cheikh Diabaté, the striker for Girondins de Bordeaux. Already absent in the Coupe de France match against Raon (which ended 2-0), Diabaté is set to be sidelined until at least February due to tendonitis in his knee. The coach of Girondins de Bordeaux, Francis Gillot, mentioned in a press conference that Diabaté will be unavailable for “15 days to 3 weeks.”
This period of absence provides an opportunity for Guillaume Hoarau, the newly-signed striker for Bordeaux, who was introduced to the press during the same conference. However, a potential partnership between Hoarau and Diabaté will have to wait, as the latter’s absence creates a chance for the former Parisian to secure a place in the team.
Diabaté will utilize this time away from the field to consult with a specialist regarding his knee tendonitis.
