Wahbi Khazri: No Idol, Just Inspiration from Greats
When asked about his football idols, Wahbi Khazri is clear: he doesn’t have one. The Tunisian international, currently playing for Bordeaux, says he prefers to draw inspiration from a range of greats rather than idolize any single player.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Guingamp’s upcoming fixture, the 23-year-old midfielder explained,
“I don’t have a specific role model player… I like the greats like Ronaldo or Messi, but otherwise, I also like basketball.”
Khazri’s affinity for basketball is reflected in his choice of jersey number, 24 — a nod to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
