Bordeaux: André Poko Ruled Out for Lorient Clash
Girondins de Bordeaux will be without André Poko for Matchday 17 of Ligue 1, as the Gabonese midfielder has not yet recovered from a torn abdominal muscle. The injury, sustained during a match against Nice, also kept him out of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
Poko, formerly of Union Sportive de Bitam (USB), continues his recovery and will miss Saturday’s fixture against Lorient, which kicks off at 7 p.m. GMT.
In other squad updates:
-
Emiliano Sala remains doubtful due to an ankle sprain.
-
Henri Saivet, absent from the squad against Metz, is expected to make his return.
-
Tiago Ilori is also likely to be available for selection.
Coach Willy Sagnol will hope the returnees can compensate for Poko’s absence as Bordeaux aims to keep up momentum in the league.
