Cheik Diabaté’s goal secured a draw for Bordeaux against Rennes in the 14th round of Ligue 1. With seven goals this season, the Malian striker is trailing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, and Radamel Falcao by only two goals.
While Diabaté acknowledges the playing styles of football stars like Messi, Ronaldo, Falcao, Zlatan, and Cavani, he emphasizes that he will always play in his unique way. In an interview with RMC, he expressed, “If I could play like Leo Messi, I would. If it was like Cristiano Ronaldo, ditto. I will never be able to play like Messi, I don’t have his speed, it’s impossible. Falcao, Zlatan, Cavani, neither, they are very good players and they are very strong. Even though I like the way other people play, I play my way because I will never be able to play like one of those players. I am and will always remain Cheick Diabaté.”
