Bordeaux: Chalobah Loan Delayed Due to FIFA Block
The anticipated arrival of Nathaniel Chalobah at Girondins de Bordeaux, announced earlier by manager Willy Sagnol, has hit an unexpected administrative snag.
According to Sud-Ouest, while Chalobah was in Bordeaux on Friday afternoon for his medical check-up, the loan deal is currently being blocked by FIFA. The issue appears to be administrative in nature, though details remain scarce.
“His loan contract is still blocked by FIFA due to an administrative issue. Bordeaux officials, however, remain hopeful of resolving the situation over the weekend,” Sud-Ouest reported.
This marks Bordeaux’s second disappointment in the transfer window, having already missed out on the loan of Yaya Sanogo, who is now expected to stay in England per Arsenal’s preference.
With uncertainty growing around Chelsea’s English prospect, Bordeaux may need to consider alternative midfield reinforcements if the matter isn’t quickly resolved.
